How to apply

Who can apply?

The competition is open to all emerging and mid career professional artists (18+). If you’re a Young Artist, please go to the separate Young Artists page for information about who can apply and how to submit your work.

How do I enter?

  • Step 1: Go to the Apply page and select your region.
  • Step 2: Create a profile.
  • Step 3: Upload 6-10 artworks. At least 3 of these must be available for sale.
  • Step 4: Pay the £30 admin fee (this helps us cover the costs of the competition).
  • Step 5: Submit your completed profile.

Then cross those fingers and keep an eye out for updates on our social media.

We’re also trying to do some good with our Art for Care charitable initiative and for every submission we get, Rise Art will donate an art kit to a child in hospital.

What if I’m an existing Rise Art seller?

All our current featured artists on Rise Art get to skip a few steps (including the admin fee). Enter the competition by applying with the form we’ve sent you via email.

Then just spruce up your Rise Art profile, upload any new works you think are promising, and sort your artworks so that the best appear at the top. Please have at least 6 pieces on your profile page.

HOW DOES THE JUDGING WORK?

There will be two rounds of judging - regional and final.

Round 1: Regional Judges

Local judges will grade artists from their respective regions and select a number of finalists. These artists will be announced in November 2017. They’ll go through to the second round of judging for the category winners and the Global Artist of the Year Prize.

The regional judges will also be giving Rise Art Highly Commended Badges to additional artists who stand out.

Round 2: Final Judging Panel

Regional finalists will showcase their artwork at an exhibition in London, where our esteemed final panel of judges will get to see their works in the flesh.

We will announce all the winners at an awards ceremony during the exhibition.

WHAT DOES THE TIMELINE LOOK LIKE?

Submissions will OPEN on 16th October 2017 and CLOSE on 12th November 2017.

We will announce the regional finalists towards the end of November 2017.

The finalist exhibition will open in February 2018.

Our awards ceremony will take place mid February.
